Uncle Ben's Converted White Rice Vermicelli (any brand) 900g pkg Margarine or butter Soya Sauce Beef or chicken bouillon cubes Optional chicken and mushrooms
In a 2.2L saucepan add 1L water bring to a boil. You may add 1-2 bouillon cubes or a bit of soya sauce to water. While this is boiling,add approx. 3 tbsp margarine to frypan. Use approx 450g of the vermicelli (half the pkg)break into 1" pices and brown. Once vermicelli is golden add 1/2 cup white rice, mix and add to boiling water. Simmer for 20-30 minutes. Do not lift lid. Once the water is gone the rice is ready. Add soya on top of rice and enjoy!!!
Water must be level with rice. If you add too much water your rice will be mushy, if not enough water is added the rice will be hard.
